Carol’s Daughter Companies File for Bankruptcy

We just learned that CD Stores LLC (formerly Carol’s Daughter Stores LLC) and other Carol’s Daughter companies have filed for bankruptcy. According to the filing, most of Carol’s Daughter stores have not been profitable since 2010. As a result, Carol’s Daughter has closed all but two of their stores (Harlem and Brooklyn) and have laid off over half of their employees. The parent company (Carol’s Daughter Holdings LLC) says that it is in good financial standing and is changing its strategy to focus on retail distribution outside of Carol’s Daughter stores. Just a couple of months ago, Target added Carol’s Daughter to its beauty roster. We hope this change in strategy saves this iconic beauty brand. We’re rooting for you, Lisa Price!
