Golden Globes 2014: The Vyne’s Best and Worst Dressed List

Tonight’s Golden Globe Awards was certainly eventful. Though some of our favorites didn’t get the globes tonight, we at least had some favorites on the red carpet. So who nailed it and who missed the mark? Here are our picks for the best and worst on the Golden Globes 2014 red carpet:

Favorite #1: Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong'o Golden Globes 2014

Why we loved it: This Ralph Lauren dress was the perfect mix of style and class. It fit her perfectly and the cape, though could have been risky, was executed in the most elegant way. And most importantly, she owned it! She looked so confident and radiated down the red carpet. Even though she didn’t get the Golden Globe for best supporting actress, she’s a winner in our book!

Favorite #2: Kerry Washington

Why we loved it: First of all, the baby bump! She looked absolutely lovely and that silhouette couldn’t have been more flattering for the mom-to-be. And the fact that she wore Olivia Pope white was so apropos. Like Lupita, we think she deserved that Golden Globe but at least she got a “best dressed” on our list!

Worst #1: Paula Patton

Why we hated it: Between Robin Thicke’s failed performance on the VMAs and this dress, this couple just can’t get it together. We didn’t think it was possible for the stunning Paula Patton to look bad in any dress. But this one made her look like she was stuffed in white tights with an extra limb growing out of her shoulder. Not good, girl. Not good. Better luck next year.

Worst #2: Zoe Saldana

Why we hated it: Zoe is another woman who is so beautiful that there is no reason why she should be on anyone’s red carpet “worst dressed list.” But this looks worse than a Project Runway challenge gone wrong. I mean, if Denise Huxtable was creating a Gordon Gartrelle dress replica, this would be the result. There are so many things going on in this design and none of them are right.

One Response to Golden Globes 2014: The Vyne’s Best and Worst Dressed List

  1. Jennifer says:

The red Ralph Lauren looks like it did come from last seasons project runway finalist. The girl with the tats and piercing who made the red cape dresses. This is just a reworked better version. But if def looks inspired by the project runway creator Helen Castillo.
