Spring Slimdown Starts Now!

inches-and-poundsAs winter weather has lasted way too long this season, a lot of us have been stuck in…… But that stops now, ladies! Summer will be here before we know it and we don’t want our beach bodies to look more appropriate for bulky sweaters and bubble coats. We’re getting motivated and are already seeing the results, so join us in the Spring Slimdown and let us know how you’re doing.

What Keesha is Doing to Slim Down: I can’t believe it, but I decided to get back into Bikram yoga. If you remember from my original post, Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 postures performed in a room that is 105 degrees. Also in my original post, I had more than a little trouble getting my “head to the knee” in my first Bikram class.¬†Regardless, something in me wanted to try it again (oh who am I kidding…the scale and knowing I’m about to be on the beaches of Aruba and in Kailei’s¬†upcoming wedding made me want to try it again!). So I did and now I’m addicted! I love feeling completely wrung out by the time the class ends. I’ll also be adding back in my hip hop dance classes, running and trying to eat clean more often than not. Join me! Would love to hear your Bikram stories and tips!

What Kailei is Doing to Slim Down: As my wedding is less than three months away and my fitting is a month away, I need to get it together. So last week I started the Paleo diet, which has been popularized by Crossfit, and effective especially with a high intensity workout. With my busy schedule, I haven’t been able to fit in the exercise as much as I would have liked, but even after a few days I’m seeing some results. What I’m not loving about it (and now I realize it’s the reason why I didn’t do it very long last time): I don’t like meat that much. I’m going to keep it going and eat more fish and see how it goes. So join me in slimming down by cutting out grains, starches, dairy, processed foods and more!
