Get the Look: Obama Ladies’ Inauguration Style

Monday was such a monumental day — Barack Obama was sworn in for his second presidential term on MLK Day. So, in addition to this being such a historic day, there were many things that generated excitement from us with all of the inauguration activities: the Obama ladies’ style. As Sasha and Malia grow up they are becoming sensible fashionistas, just like their mom and Michelle, well, she certainly did not disappoint this week. So here are some of our favorite looks and, more impotently, how you can get the look as well!

Michelle Obama’s sensible style strikes again! She dusted off this Michael Kors sequined dress that she wore back in 2009. With new accessories and new hair, we hardly even noticed. If you like, check out this .MICHAEL by Michael Kors black jersey sequined dress.

Sasha Obama rocked this adorable ‘Mariposa’ lace dress by Plenty by Tracy Reese at her dad’s private swearing in ceremony. It’s on sale at Anthropologie.

Malia’s purple coat was the perfect color purple and would be just a fabulous on an adult as it was this teen. You can buy this J Crew Double Cloth Lady Day Coat here.

Not only is this Thom Browne coat just incredible, but the way FLOTUS accessorized it was just perfect. The belt seemed to be from the J Crew bridal collection, the gloves were J Crew cashmere lined gloves that are sold out but you can find these which are pretty close, and those fabulous boots were Reed Krakoff Leather-Suede Thin-Strap Knee Boots.

Michelle Obama wore a beautiful red chiffon Jason Wu dress at the inaugural ball. For something similar, check out this ML Monique Lhuillier Twist Shoulder Red Gown.
