Name: Crystle Stewart

Occupation: Actress, recently appeared as part of the cast of Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse

Education: BS degree in Consumer Science and Merchandising from the University of Houston

Achievements: Silver medal for 4×400 meter relay during the 1994 Junior Olympics, crowned Miss USA 2008 and represented the US in the Miss Universe pageant where she advanced to the top 10.

Perseverance: Crystle won the title of Miss Texas on her fifth attempt, proving that persistence and perseverance in the face of adversity does pay off. mentioned that she often recalls a line from the Bible her mother would recite, “The race is not given to the swift nor the strong, but to the one who endureth to the end.” She sure did endureth!

Hobbies: Fundraising, mentoring, working with autistic children

Sorority Life: Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc

Inspiration from Scary Situation: When Crystle was 21 years old she found a lump in her breast during a breast self-examination. Luckily the biopsy revealed that it was benign but she did have it removed. This gave her quite a scare, as you can imagine, but that experience inspired her to help raise awareness for breast cancer and she even used that as her platform for the Miss USA pageant.
