Refyning Moments: Clean Your Closet
For many of us, when we hear “clean your closet,” it sounds like a chore and doesn’t quite sound like a way to refine your life. So stay with me…Think about it: we wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time, yet every day, we rummage through all of the clothes in our closet to find something to wear. Clutter piles up, but it’s easy to just close those doors and not think about it again until the next day.
So here’s your activity: Take all your clothes out of your closet and assemble them in three piles: keep, donate, trash. Though you may have a tendency to keep a lot of it, if you haven’t worn it in a year (unless it’s a special occasion piece), donate it. When you reload your closet you’ll likely feel a sense of relief with your lighter, new and improved closet. Not to mention, you’ll donate some clothes to a good cause. It’s amazing how cathartic cleaning can be.
