Refyning Moments: Do Something With Your Hands

Here’s this week’s “Refyning Moment”: Do something with your hands. There is something therapeutic to be said for doing something with your hands. Take for example gardening. There’s actually a discipline called therapeutic horticultural which is about using plants and plant related activities to promote health and wellness. The same thing can be said for painting, drawing or building something. So this week, we encourage you to do something therapeutic with your hands. Here are a few ideas:

1. Make a beautiful outdoor arrangement of plants to fill a terra cotta pot that you can place on your balcony or your front steps.

2. If you don’t have a place for an outdoor arrangement, try purchasing a few beautiful vases to make a few colorful indoor arrangements for the rooms in your home. Try this site, Chive, for some creative options to place your arrangements in.

3. Visit your local crafts store to purchase a canvas, brushes and some paints. Even if you’ve never painted before, just try it for the feeling of it. Who knows, you may discover your inner Van Gogh!
