Keesha and Kailei’s Household Essentials
Neither of us are the most domestic women around, but there are certainly things we keep in our homes that we just can’t live without. Here are just a few of the items that you’re likely to find in our homes.
I absolutely love the basil-scented line of Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day – I mean, to the point that I find myself sniffing my fingers after I wash my hands (did I just admit that?). Get some of this if you want to sniff yours too.
Febreze is one of those things that’s great to keep on hand to freshen up any fabric — from sheets to clothes. Have you ever worn a shirt for a couple hours and wanted to wear it again before washing but couldn’t because it smelled like the restaurant you just left? Spray some Febreze on it and the food smell will be knocked and you’ll be good to go the next time you need to wear it.
I’ve had my Keurig coffee maker for over a year now and it’s just so darn convenient. When working late at home, I don’t have to get upset that Starbuck’s is closed or leave the house to get some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Yeah, I could make some coffee in a regular coffee maker, but I’d have to clean it out afterward. With Keurig’s K-cups you can make the coffee by the cup without having to clean a thing. My favorite coffee so far has been Gloria Jean’s Butter Toffee — so yummy!
My mom bought me a set of several Jo Malone candles for Christmas and I really love them. Once you light one of these candles, you’ll be amazed at how quickly the luxurious, aromatic scent fills a room (try Lime Blossom, Pomegranate Noir, Wild Fig & Cassis, or Orange Blossom).
1. Wine Stopper – Every now and then, unwinding with a glass of wine at the end of a long day is just what the doctor ordered. But if you’re a single lady, you surely don’t want to waste what’s left after you drink a glass. So I find these fun/colorful wine stoppers are perfect for saving what’s left of your bottle.
2. Swiffer Duster – Out with the old feather duster…all it does is blow the dust around anyway. So I use these Swiffer dusters and they work quite well.
3. L’Occitane “Verbena Hand Wash” – I absolutely love the fragrant soaps and body washes in L’Occitane. To add a little touch of luxury to my guest bath room, I keep this verbena hand wash on the sink for all my guests to enjoy the fragrance. Yours will enjoy it too!
4. Tabletop Humidifier – Dry air in the house can be a real nuisance, making it hard to breath at night and just plain old drying out your skin. I combat dry skin and dry throat by using a tabletop humidifier like this one from Air-O-Swiss. Mine sits conveniently on the edge of my dresser so I don’t forget to turn it on at night.
