Woman to Watch: Aisha Muharrar
Current City (if different): Los Angeles
Education: Harvard
Occupation: Writer
Best thing about writing for NBC’s hit show “Parks & Recreation”?: Everything is the best thing. I get to work with people who created my favorite episodes of The Simpsons, The Office, and SNL, three shows I love. The worst thing is I was a fan of Parks & Rec before I got the job, but I hate spoilers, so you can see my (not-actual) predicament.
3 Words that Describe You: Easy, breezy, beautiful. These are 3 words used to describe Rihanna in the Cover Girl ad, but she looks awesome, so I thought I’d borrow.
Shuffle your iPod – What’s the First Song that Comes Up?: Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something.” This is the best possible answer because there’s a lot of embarrassing stuff on my iPod. I shuffled again and got Regina Spektor’s “Raindrops”. My iPod is trying to protect me and I love it for that. To even things out, tomorrow it will probably start playing Dream’s “He Loves U Not” super loudly while I’m at the movies or something.
What is Your Favorite Travel Destination?: I love Santa Barbara. There’s always the slightest chance you’ll run into Oprah.
What Beauty Product Can’t You Live Without?: Confidence. That’s the name of the fragrance line I’m developing so I can get free advertising whenever a gorgeous actress mentions it in a magazine.
Finish this Sentence, “To feel more centered I…”: Very calmly say, “you have to stop crying, you idiot.”
Who is Your Celebrity Fashion Inspiration?: Rashida Jones has great style. One time she told me I’d look good in a pair of pants that she was wearing and I considered replacing my entire wardrobe with just that pair of pants. That’s how confident I am she knows what she’s doing.
What is Your Favorite Thing to do When You’re Not Working?: I’m addicted to Gchat.
What is Your Favorite Restaurant?: Village Pizzeria.
What are You Most Proud of?: Getting Obama elected. I was told in an email from David Plouffe that I did this.
What Words Do You Live By?: Probably the lyrics from the song “Unwritten.”
