March Meltdown: Week 1
Tuesday, March 1st launched the beginning of March Meltdown! We know many of you are joining in and have even joined the event on Facebook, and it’s not too late to join! We’re wrapping up day four and we both saw our good work pay off. We wanted to share with you some of our experience with our first week and we encourage you to do the same:
Keesha’s Week 1 of March Meltdown:
On a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being magnificent), I would rate week one of March Meltdown a 4. I lost 2lbs which was great but I didn’t work out as much as I had planned. I’m using the Weight Watchers principles for my eating habits so that’s been working out well. I did happen to indulge in a mini-cupcake at work (dern work functions!) but I made sure to even out my points appropriately for the week so all turned out good. Funny thing happened when I walked into the WaWa to get money from the ATM one day this week, a bag of cheesy puffs spoke to me…it said, and I quote, “Keesha…you haven’t had me since you were a kid…don’t you miss having orange fingers?…one little bag of cheesy puffs won’t hurt anybody!” Weird huh? You’ll be happy to know, I did not respond to the talking cheesy puffs, nor did I purchase them. Keesha 1…Cheesy Puffs 0. On to Week 2…
Kailei’s Week 1 of March Meltdown:
This was my first time doing Weight Watchers. In the past, I have achieved greatest results on low carb programs, so I was wondering if I could still lose weight fairly quickly on a balanced program. My mission: stick to the program this week and work out at least 2-3 times. Can you believe that the day before March Meltdown kicked off, I slipped and fell on some ice outside my place, hurting my back? I didn’t even feel up to eating a big, scrumptious “last supper” before starting the meltdown. Luckily, nothing was broken, but since working out was out of the question, I knew I had to stick to eating right. And I did. Oddly enough I never felt deprived. I’ve noticed I’m paying more attention to what I’m putting in my body and also listening to my body. They say that it takes 20 minutes to feel full once you start eating and I’ve experienced that. Just today I ate a salad and didn’t feel satisfied. A while later I was going to make some soup but just before putting it in the microwave I realized I wasn’t hungry anymore. And, I’m down 3 pounds and it hasn’t even been a week yet – yay! I hope that week 2 is just as good!
So tell us, how was your first week of March Meltdown?
