Angela Burt-Murray Leaves Essence

Today Essence Editor-in-Chief Angela Burt-Murray announced she is leaving the magazine publication. She mentioned moving to Atlanta with her family. Though we don’t know if her departure has anything to do with the controversy over her appointment of a white fashion director, interest from Time, Inc to get some new blood after Angela’s five year reign, or a new career waiting for her in Atlanta, this departure will certainly bring some changes to the largest African-American female targeted publication.

This announcement comes just one day after the Essence Women’s Conference. You can see a full article from the NY Post here.
